Einmal mit dem Rucksack durch Australien reisen — davon träumen viele. Wer als Backpacker auf dem Roten Kontinent unterwegs sein möchte, benötigt lediglich ein entsprechendes Australien Visum (am Besten das Working Holiday Visum), ein Flugticket, etwas Geld und Abenteuerlust.
Mein Auslandsjahr begann im Jahr 2003 als Aupair in Neuseeland, und führte mich anschließend für neun Monate nach Australien. Alles was ich dort erlebt habe, wurde in meinem Reisetagebuch festgehalten. Als Ausgangspunkt meiner Reise hatte ich Sydney gewählt — von dort aus entwickelte ich eine Reiseroute, die mich von Brisbane über Darwin, nach Perth und Melbourne bringen sollte.
Natürlich habe ich auf meinem langen Weg mehr als nur das Opernhaus in Sydney, Ayers Rock, das Great Barrier Reef, Kängurus und Koala Bären gesehen. Ich habe viele nette Leute kennengelernt, einige Jobs in Australien angenommen und auch unzählige Fotos gemacht.
A lot of people dream of backpacking through Australia. If you want to be travelling the red continent, all you need for it is a visa for Australia (for example a working holiday visa), a flight ticket, some money and a great sense of adventure.
I started my gap year in 2003 as a nanny in New Zealand, but afterwards it took me to Australia for another nine months. I wrote a travel blog about everything I experienced there. I chose Sydney to be the beginning of my travels and that is where I developed a travel route that took me from Brisbane over Darwin, to Perth and Melbourne.
Of course I have seen a lot more then just Sydney Opera House, Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef, Kangaroos and koala bears. I got to know a lot of nice people, had different jobs in Australia and took countless photos.
