Tasmania – Mt. Field National Park, Russell Falls

25/11/2004 – New Norfolk

The most horrible night ever!

Very spectacular are Russell Falls and the hugh kauri trees at Mount Field National Park. I spent the night in a brand new backpackers in New Norfolk where I was the only guest and I had a room with a king size bed to myself. I could have been a great night however the sandfly bites kept me awake all night long!

26/11/2004 – Hobart

Honey tasting and X-mas shopping

Day trip to Hobart. Up and down Mt. Wellington, then X-mas shopping and some exercise at the Aquatic Centre. At the end of the day back to New Norfolk - because the backpckers there is great!

27/11/2004 – Port Arthur

Lots to do and see on the way to Port Arthur

I started the day picking strawberries. Ok, first I went to Salamanka Market in Hobart but then I picked some strawberries. On the way to Port Arthur I marveled at Tasman Arch, Devil's Blowhole, Waterfall Bay and the Remarkable Cave as well as the Historic Mine Walk.

28/11/2004 – Freycinet National Park

Visiting stunning Wineglass Bay

Wineglass Bay is absolutely beautiful, no matter if you look at it from a mountain or from the beach. I've done both, of course.

29/11/2004 – Bridgeport

My last day in Tasmania

Stopped in St. Helens to admire the Bay of Fires. The moss on the rocks is bright red and looks great in contrast to the white sand and the blue water of the sea. I spent my last night in a backpackers in Bridgeport. I had to take the car back to Launceston the next day from where I took a flight back to Melbourne on the same day.
